Over-the-top ornamentation characterizes these jeweler-style, museum-quality enameled eggs first made famous by the House of Romanov’s imperial jeweler in the 19th century. The Ladybug boasts an intricate filigree of lavender-hued pansies and a namesake “lucky bug” while the Hummingbird tips its filigreed lid to reveal a spot for tiny treasures. Both are cast in pewter using the ancient lost wax method and before the brilliant blue and pink enamel, faux jewels and tiny embellishments are added. Ladybug: 2½”dia.x4½”H. 1 lb.
